Tam O' Shanter

The Robert Burns poem Tam o’ Shanter served as the inspiration for this clubhouse remodel and addition which includes a dining room, members only lounge and banquet room. The hospitality rooms draw from the imagery of the rustic Scottish landscape found in Burn’s 18th century poem. The focal point is the ledge stone fireplace. On one side of the fireplace the more intimate space of the members’ only lounge and on the other is the dining hall. Browns and other earth tones tie the rooms together and evoke the rugged Scottish scenery. The poem describes Tam’s treacherous ride to reach home. For this reason, a welcoming traditional ambience was creating using traditional elements such as coffered ceilings in the dining room and deep, comfortable chairs in the members’ lounge. The perfect place to sip a single malt after the travails of the golf course.
