University Village - Seattle, WA

Twist, a boutique jewelry store based in Portland, moved their primary retail location from downtown Seattle to University Village. SWW, together with the tenant, conceived of a store design that would highlight the unique products by providing a visually calm and ordered backdrop. A reduced exterior material palette of hand-troweled venetian plaster and blackened steel was chosen to contrast with an interior of warm wood and glass. Substantially reworking the existing retail structure, SWW completely demolished and rebuilt the exterior envelope, changed the entrance location, and re-engineered the steel canopy.
